As the wise philosopher Vladeta Jerotić once said, “An ancient sage once remarked: when you desire something in life, you must first think with a cool mind, then accept it with a warm heart, and finally execute it with clean hands.”
In line with this philosophy, our latest initiative has focused on supporting the Church of St. Mark in Užice, a site of significant cultural and historical importance.
The Church of St. Mark, also known as the Old Church, is dedicated to the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark. Originally built in 1721, the church was burned down during the Turkish rule in Užice. The current structure was erected on the foundations of the original church in 1828, during the reign of Prince Miloš Obrenović. In 1890, a 22-meter tall wooden bell tower was added, which remains a prominent feature of the church to this day.
A Commitment to Preservation
Now, 133 years after the bell tower was first erected, the Live Rich Foundation has joined the initiative to help restore this historic landmark. Through our donation, we aim to support the renovation of the bell tower, ensuring that this cultural monument continues to stand as a symbol of Užice’s rich history.
Honoring Tradition, Embracing the Future
By contributing to the preservation of the Church of St. Mark, the Live Rich Foundation underscores its commitment to safeguarding the heritage of local communities. We believe that by restoring and maintaining historical landmarks, we are not only preserving the past but also nurturing the spirit and identity of future generations.
Our foundation is honored to be part of this important project, and we encourage others to join in the effort to protect and restore the cultural treasures that enrich our communities.
